Do you also offer language combinations without German or English?

Yes, we can do that. However, seeing as there is a nearly infinite amount of language combinations, you will need to give us your desired language combination in order to inform you on whether or not the translation can be done directly or via a relay-translation.

What is a relay translation?

A relay-translation is necessary if we are not able to offer a direct translation from the original language into the desired language. It must therefore be translated “via” another language such as German or English. The language “in the middle” is the relay-language. Example: Translation from French to Norwegian requested. We are not able to offer this translation directly. The translation will therefore be made French > German > Norwegian. In this case, German is the relay-language.

How fast can you translate?

The speed at which the translation is completed varies and depends greatly on our availability and the level of difficulty. We also try to fulfil your orders as quickly as possible. Please inform us of your desired delivery date so that we can clarify its feasibility.

Do you charge rush delivery fees?

No, or only very seldom. It’s possible that the desired customer delivery date is so tight that only an overnight-service or complete weekend shift comes into question. In that case, the translator now and then charges a rush delivery fee which we forward to the customer; of course, only after their explicit approval.

Can you also translate PDF files?

Yes, we can do that however, we always recommend sending us the original file with which the PDF was created for the calculation of costs and the final translation. The costs will subsequently be reduced and the formatting will remain as it was in the original document. If the PDF in question is a scan or the original document is no longer available, then we can of course complete the translation based on the PDF file and in that case will deliver a Word file.

Do you also translate birth certificates as certified translations?

Yes, we can do that for the majority of the language combinations we offer. A certified translation must be carried out by a sworn translator which is possible with us.

What’s the difference between interpreting and translating?

Translations are made verbally when interpreting. If you need a written translation of a text, then the service in question is translating not interpreting.

Do you translate InDesign files?

Yes. We can translate your InDesign files. All you need to do is send us the text you would like translated in the exchange format offered by InDesign. The file name will then be idml or inx with older versions of InDesign. You will then receive the finished idml file from us which can be simply opened InDesign. There is no need to copy the text back and forth.
