Copy-editing/Proofreading/Page Proofing

A final polish for your texts.

You have written a text and would like to have an expert examine its linguistic elements? You have been sent a translation and want to be sure that the text was translated correctly and free of mistakes? You have typeset a text in a specific layout and would like to have it cleared for printing and publication? Then you’ve come to the right place!

What are the differences? We will explain them.

The copy-editing of a translation is carried out by a second specialist translator working in their native language. That translator will examine the accuracy of the translation as well as the spelling, grammar, punctuation and style. We only copy-edit texts from native-speaking translators. We are also able to copy-edit your in-house texts in various foreign languages. Texts from non-native speakers only after feasibility check.

Elements from the German or foreign text such as, spelling, grammar, and punctuation are examined here. Should the text in question be a translation, the accuracy of the translation itself will not be included.

The texts are given to a native-speaking translator to be page proofed after typesetting in a layout file (DTP formats). This is done as a PDF file. The main focus here is placed on word wrap, word division, and capitalisation in headlines, captions, and lists.
